Vanapple

2293439757_7bebce663e_oThis one got created on a night out into some of Melbourne more back alley cocktail bars. I got a bit too drunk, don’t remember the exact recipe that I made up on the spot, but I do recall that it ended up being a $22 cocktail and it went a little something like this:

Glass: Large Martini

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Vanilla Vodka
  • 30ml Baronjaeger (a honey vodka will do if you don’t have any, but the flavour isn’t quite right)
  • 60ml Apple juice (preferably fresh and cloudy)
  • 30ml Pear Juice

Method: Shake & Strain

Garnish: I just wanted a cherry, but the bartender did this cool thing by making a fan out of apple wedges. Looks much better really. As you can see, they were very lightly dusted in cinammon and then placed in the glass.

It should be pointed out that this drink is sweet and fruity. Really sweet and fruity, like Robin Williams on ecstacy. You’re also only going to be able to get it made at a decently stocked cocktail bar or at home.

I think in future, I’m going to have to endeavour to get better pictures.

Time to buy a lightbox *sigh*
