The King’s Pleasant Dream
This week’s drink is a shooter.
Lately I’ve been feeling less inclined to drink for flavour, and more to simply get smashed. However, one must keep up appearances, like waiting until the alarm for 4:00pm to begin drinking in haste.
This is one such drink. The Chambord and Pimm’s lend it an air of respectability, and pretend to be low in alcohol (Chambord is a piddling 15%), whilst teh Absinthe has a “mystique” of gawthness to it that will also get you wasted in no time as the one I used sits at a well (not very) rounded 82.5%.
The name of the drink itself is meant to be a mnemonic device.
The king is Chambord, Pimms is pleasant, and Absinthe certainly sets you dreaming… Like a certain Queenie Chan graphic novel, ut with slightly less axe murdering… unless you have one too many of these.
Glass: Shot
Ingredients:
- 10ml Chambord
- 10ml Pimms
- 10ml Absinthe
Method: Build
Garnish: You can set it on fire, then it becomes The King’s Pleasant Nightmare… Add in a few little cocktail swords, and I suppose it becomes the King’s Pleasant Nightmare on Elm Street.
