EgofreakyMan, it’s been a while since I’ve managed to get a drink up. I know I keep posting how i will, but seemingly never get around to it. It’s actually kind of upsetting. But all that’s behind me for another year, so you fantastic people get another 10 months of drinks out of me before it kicks into overdrive again.
So what kept me going to whole time?
Energy Drinks?
Rum?
Both, actually!
And I found that they work better in concert! The problem is of course, with anything energy drink related, the fucking awfully foul taste left in the mouth. I once found a milk based energy drink, Viking, but they took it off the market because apparently milk appeals to children and they didn’t want them having too much caffeine (in which case, what the fuck is CocaCola still doing taking up 18 shelves?). Then Pimp Juice got taken off the market, much to my chagrin, as I was making a tidy profit from it at conventions.
But finally, a new breed is out, courtesy of the juicey people at Spring Valley: Smart Energy.
They still have the underlying taste of Stygian turpitude, but a pleasing flavour is added over the top, such as “blood orange and chili” (pictured) and the one I’ve become addicted to is blueberry… which I add rum too. The problem is that energy drinks tend to accelerate the effects of alcohol, as well as making you twitchy and nervous. Twitchy + nervous + a little drunk a little faster = (road)RAAAAGE!!!
… bringing the story behind this week’s drink to a close
