So DoujiCon is coming up, and I thought, why not try to go to theme here… after all, next week I’m not really going to have time to make many drinks, just down them, as I frantically attempt to get shit sorted for the unholy matrimony between DoujiCon and the Melbourne Anime Festival‘s Minifest. I’ve got to say, I’m still massively disappointed at the current lack of “fan art” involving the two mascots.

Anyway, this drink is inspired by a standard Blue Lagoon. It’s a delicious concoction that I would normally not be able to drink due to my adverse reaction to pineapple. However! There’s a delightful pineapple liqueur that a few companies such as Baitz and Marie Brizzard make. If you can find it at a specialty store, like Ackland Cellars, or order some online, you’ll be set… Otherwise just add half a shot of vodka, and some pineapple juice. Results will vary.

Glass: Goblet or Martini

Ingredients:

Method: Shake and strain all the ingredients, except the guava juice and bitters through ice. Top the drink off by pouring the guava juice in gently and giving a light stir, then dash the bitters in.

Garnish: If you want to make it all creature like, I’d recommend using some orange peel as tentacles. The zest will mean reconsidering how much bitters you use though. If you want to get really creative, take half a guava, and give it tentacles by attaching the orange peels with bits of toothpicks.
