EgofreakySo with all the work I’ve been doign for Manifest, I figured, fuck it I need a drink.
Last year I made one after the mascot, Peppa Chan, but this year I’ve decided I hate her. Hate her with a passion only born of complete and utter neglect and then having her intrude on my psyche once more. So what else can I base a drink on and draw inspiration?
Well, if rumours are anything to go by, one of the guests I’ve been arranring is something of a party animal and he could probably do with a drink too, so let’s make a drink for him, and one of his better known roles. (more…)
This blog hasn’t been abandoned!

EgofreakyRemember last year where posts mysteriously stopped for about 6 weeks? Yeah, it’s that time of year again, I’m PMSing… Or Manifest ing at the very least. Seriously, the event takes a lot out of me, like a succubus vampire crack dealer that works as a lawyer by day… or something. Please come along to it and make me feel like I haven’t just wasted 6 months of my life. (more…)
Venting my Spleen @ Spleen

So it turns out my standup comedy is actually starting to be appreciated in more than a single location… The internet that is.
I’ve been booked in to do a gig at Spleen.
For those that are unaware of the Australian, or at least Melburne, comedy circuit, Spleen is one of those venues that can actually make or break you. Camera crews are often present taking footage for ABC specials, or Champagne Comedy. Scouts from various international comedy shows oftne hang out there, particularly during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Even though you don’t get paid, and the venue is dangerously over crowded in order to do so, ther are huge crowds in attendance. Upwards of 200 for a venue that I’m pretty certain is only licensed for 95.
Frustratingly enough for me, this is right in the middle of the crunch period for me, though. Literally the week before the Melbourne Anime Festival, when realistically, I should be concentrating on ensuring that that’s not going to be the abject failure I always fear anything I’m involved with will become (so far, that’s only happened twice).
Either way, I hope to see you there.
Retreading old DIRT [VIC]

DIRT, the club that caters to the younger crowd with their new fangled “hardcore” and “new-punk” and “nu-metal” and scat-boards, has finally found a new home and is meant to be getting a regular Friday slot. With Saturday nights getting rather over crowded, this now gives an opening to people that have their free time on a Friday night as their attempting to avoid sabbath dinner with family *cough* It also allows for a bit of club hopping between this, Silhouette for the more traditional music, and maybe even Cherry Bar if you feel like the cock rock.
Now situated at The Night Owl, 33 Elizabeth.st, Melbourne, DIRT is all about having a good time and not caring what others think. It’s been out in the cold for a bit, and SKOL doesn’t seem to be coming back yet (not that it was really a different club, but y’know) but at least this means there’s a few things on a Friday now.
A real review will be forth coming once I’ve actually checked out the new digs.
Entry is $12, or $10 with the flier.
Drink Specials (until 11pm):
- $2.50 for Carlton pots (but why would you do this to yourself?)
- $4.00 shots
- $5.00 basic spirits
