A particularly good friend of mine came to town on Wednesday for the Iron Maiden concert, but ended up not going due to a whole bunch of circumstances that are straight out of the worst of soap operas. This culminated in myself and friend Cyraxis taking her out in the Italian district at about 2am for something to eat while she freaked out about catching a 6am flight in an attempt to get back home even faster than her previous travel arrangements, blowing a rather large wad of cash in the process… as opposed to blowing me, goddamnit!

Anyway, the place we ended up in happened to do milkshakes and serve booze.

So in an effort to drown sorrows and have delicious dairy beverages, we got to tinkering with flavour combinations.

Glass: Milkshake glass or Highball

Ingredients:

• 50ml Malibu (don’t substitute for another coconut liquor, they’re mostly terrible)
• 15ml Frangelico
• 30ml Blue Heaven flavouring
• 150ml milk
• 3 scoops french vanilla icecream

Method: Put everything into a milkshake mixing cup, turn on milkshake machine.

If you do not have a milkshake machine… powerdrills work well, too… or you can use an egg beater, or just shake them very, very vigorously in a cocktail shaker.

Garnish: Cherries, wafer wedges, whipped cream, sprinkles… whatever you’d normally put on your own milkshakes.
