About Goth Club
22/11/08
EgofreakyThe first rule of Goth Club is that you tell everyone you can about it, and then tell them it’s really exclusive, and that they probably won’t be allowed in the door without buying Demonia’s, like everyone else, because otherwise you’re not an individual.
Actually, Goth Club dotcom dotayoo is run by Egofreaky, long time goth, full time cynic, and partial otaku. Formerly heavily involved in the Melbourne goth scene, Egofreaky has since retired that role to help publish some Australian Manga with the OzTAKU Community. He is also heavily involved with Australia’s largest anime convention. If something comes across as serious, our sincerest apologies.
On the other hand, if you think something has come across as too flippant, such as a review of your club or the consistent hypothesis that the world would be a better place if all children under 12 had their brains dashed out on the rocks of a cliff face in the service of Shudde M’ell, The Burrower Beneath… Then by all means, write me an angry letter via the contact form.
The odd guest post is put up by
- Harkonnen, a like minded individual
- Twist, the freakish female doppleganger of Egofreaky
- Nat Robinson, the resident non-goth
- Nero, the man what has an opinion on things
- Other people who care to (that is to say, ask for contributor access, and you’ll probably get it)
The original intention of this site, well, the domain at any rate, was to game search engine results for Black Widows, a monthly Melbourne night… But as the promoter couldn’t get his shite together for it, and reg fees were a wastin’, it got re-purposed into a site for the sort of conversation you’d normally get after a few too many Absinthe’s at a goth club anyway.
You’ll find movie and show reviews, blatant attention whoring, drink recipes, the occasional review of a night or album, and sometimes even something insightful.
Also, if you’d like to contribute, you may use the contact form (which will promptly be ignored and is only there to pretend I care), or leave a comment on one of the pages.
Enjoy.

i’m a long time goth and have recently turned 18. Are there any places in melbourne besides Blue Velvet that are considered Goth or rave clubs/bars that are worth going to?
