That's right, I'm still too lazy to take photos of my drinks lately... I'll get around to it at some amazingly epic party sometime.

Some drinks are brought on by a nee to look cool. Other are brought on by the requirement of using the latest ingredient in the liquor cabinet. Sometimes you just need something cool and refreshing, like beer, but without the bloating, like drunk yobbos. Some drinks are so amazingly awesome that it’s hard to think that no one has ever mentioned them before… not even in their most bored, alcohol induced hazes. And some drinks come to you because you’re too lazy to reach past the first two things in the liquor cabinet, and there’s lemon juice in the door of the fridge.

Behold the culmination of all of the above unlikely scenarios!

With odds like these, I should be playing lotteries…. (more…)

And if you've been a really bad child, coal in your stocking takes on a metaphorical sense you really don't want to think about

So I know I’ve posted this one already in a previous post, but it may have been lost in all the sarcasm and bile.
Also, being the day before Christmas, I figured you’d need a drink, or something, that allows you a bit of ye olde ability to jam metaphorical fingers into hypothetical ears and scream (Fa)La!La!LaLa at the top of your lungs so you don’t have to deal with your miserable family and how much you hate them and oh god would it really hurt them to get you something other than fucking socks for once?!

As you can tell, I don’t really do Christmas…

Like a decent number of goths, I’m a big fan of manga and anime.

In fact, a large enough fan that I’m actually a an ersatz producer. For a while, I had Australia’s largest and most widely distributed manga magazine, OzTAKU, pumping out an edition every few months. We got up to 7 issues before the money ran out because advertisers didn’t see the value in adults that’d pay money for comics and merchandise… Yeah, I know.

And this led me to drink! (more…)

There’s no drink post this week, because I made one last week, even though I said I wouldn’t.

I just love getting you guys drunk and easy I guess.

Anyway, whilst I’m too lazy to come up with a drink this week, I still have a good recommendation for drinking, because it’s the weekend, it’s Halloween, and regardless of what costume you put on on Sunday night, by the time you wake up with a mouth tasting of soil and carpet, you should be TPd enough to look like a mummy.

Which is why I recommend Duck & Bull cider, from Henry of Harcourt!

This is no ordinary cider. For a start, it’s a draught cider, which actually means it’s something of a savoury taste. Those of you looking for something like a Strongbow are going to be sorely disappointed… In fact, I’ve even had one person tell me it tastes like vinegar. I guess your taste buds would inform you of that if you drank nothing but Cocacola 24/7 as well though.

Anyway, the taste: It’s crisp & light, refreshingly so if kept in a glass with ice, and bordering on a sweeter flavoured ale with a hint of apple.

Where it really shines through though is the liquor content. 3.5 standard drinks per serve. Have one of these after forgetting to eat for the entire day (probably using the money you were meant to spend on lunch) and you’re going to be having a good time in 20 minutes or so. Have a second and it’s a great night out in under an hour.

I drank HOW many last night!?

A third one may be pushing it… Finishing the four pack on an empty stomach is asking to wake up with a mouth that looks like an ancient mummy’s as well as the taste of soil and carpet.

The only problem with this, other than making some very bad ideas seem great, is that it’s a pain in the arse to find. I’d recommend getting it from Slowbeer.com.au in bulk and sucking up the shipping like a man… a man that’s ok with admitting he drinks cider.
