Once again, the dark fashions come out and it’s time to see what people will be wearing out to clubs until the world’s end 2012, but contrary to popular belief, the world does not end with you. Dammit, why do you have to be so conceited?

Been a while since I wrote one of these. But let’s get wright back into the saddle with two unrelated scientific discoveries that have some very interesting possibilities.

And after adding about 100ml of Absinthe to this drink, you will also know no fear

1) Due to abnormal brain construction, there is a woman who literally knows no fear.

2) The development of a small electronic device that blocks pain signals in the human body.

These two discoveries may seem entirely unrelated, and also great news for the bio-medical community, but they open up some serious possibilities. (more…)

There are two things in life we can rely on: Death and the Japanese taking any technology available and figuring out how a penis can be associated with it. Did I mention I ♥ Japan?

Either way, you may not have heard of Teledildonics before. It was a field that was big in the early 90s, when VR and the internet were reaching the height of their hype cycles, with people saying that technology that is still a few years away now were going to be available in about 32 minutes time. Basically, teledildonics combines haptic feedback mechanisms and controllers with telecommunication technology, allowing you to fuck someone at a distance and not have to worry about STDs or anything (unless you’re using it at an internet cafe or something).

It all makes the long distance Hug Shirt seem so very 20th century.

Doesn't even have internal WiFi!

Let’s face it, the human body is not very well designed. It’s quite possibly one of the largest flaws in Creationism theory, because if we were made in the image of a perfect God, we’d certainly have limbs that are a lot more functional than the ones we have now. There are plenty of reasons why our bodies are actually poor design, from the wiring of our visual cortex, to the number of genetic abberations that can occur during reproductive process, to the general impracticality of our limbs.

Which is why it’s such a good thing that someone’s looking for ways to improve upon our design in both a functional, and aesthetically pleasing manner! (more…)
